A day like in a picture book
11.11.03.

So, I have again a work week behind me and I am driving my car to my home water, where I have been feeding all week long. As I arrive at the water I have the feeling that it will be interesting and I know immediately what to do.

Before planning my time, I am driving around with the boat and mark my places, and feed each 1,5 kg tiger nuts and corn. As a special thing, my scaly friends get 1 kg crushed, whole M1 SBS and Plum Eurostar also from SBS at the place. On the way back to the shore I start to set up my bivvy. After that the rods are coming.

Now, as the rods are placed nicely, I have the feeling that it won’t last very long. After about half an hour I can hear my good old Fox RX singing my song.

After picking up I am standing in the boat and pump myself slowly to the fish. 1000 thoughts are running through my head – how big it might be, mirror or common or is it the one I have been waiting for so long? ZZZZZZZZZrrrrr – it takes line again. I have been in the boat for 25 minutes and I still haven’t seen the fish, not even once. At once, it pumps up, a common one. – „Yes“, the fish is gasping for breath and dives down again. Now I am getting closer to the direction, because I saw that the hook is hanging well. The fish is coming up again the second time and gasps for breath; now he belongs to me. 2 minutes later the fish is already in my net. What a fantastic guy! I have already caught many big fish, but this one is really nice.

This nice massive common was 17 kg

Perfectly balanced

After rowing back, I weigh him and… and exactly 17 kg. Ssssssssuuuuuuuuppppppppeeerr!!! Quickly some photos and the rod is coming back to the hot spot with the bait I have used and caught the fish with. I used one M1 Wafters and one Squid Fluro Pop Up from SBS. On the top of the second rod I am fishing with one M1 Boilie and one Plum SBS Boilie. I find this combination really great. After the first fish the fishing calms down and everything now comes is only a lookup for me.
But the old Fox doesn’t want to be silent and the whole game goes on until the next day 13h. I catch 3 fish between 8 and 10 kg – a nice mirror carp with 12,40kg and 3fish with 3-4kg caught directly from the boat, and one fat bream, that can’t resist my M1 Plum Combo.

A nice mirror with 12,4 kg

At 14h I pack the rods tired but with a grin on my face. It was enough but I am looking forward to the next time.

Tight lines,

Arnold
